My name is Jeff Helmes and I have been bladesmithing since 2003 and blacksmithing full time since 2004. Whenever possible I like to make work that is both beautiful and fully functional. I am constantly endeavoring to improve the quality of my craftsmanship, and my knowledge of metallurgy and history where it applies to bladesmithing.
I work in a variety of styles and my pieces range everywhere from the simple to the exotic. I make my blades from any number of fine modern high carbon steels, pattern welded steel, and I even make my own steel for a truly historical reproduction.
